I am a hand weaver and textile artist with an interest in using the structure and form which weaving inherently gives to work as the boundaries which can be pushed and within which abstracted images interpreting natural phenomena can be produced. What fibres are used is critical to any piece and will reflect on what is being explored at the time. Most of my works are of a decorative nature and include wall hangings and framed pieces which are for hanging in a domestic or business environment.

I was introduced to weaving at Gamlebyen Skol, Fredrikstad, Norway, where I was a student for a year in 1975/6. I loved weaving from the first but when I came home I could not see how I could do more and it just slipped into the back of my mind as something I would do one day, probably.

In 2005 I went on a weekend workshop introducing weaving at UCA Farnham, and I was hooked again. This time I did not put it to one side but carried on weaving and learning more.  In 2011/12 I attended the Access to Higher Education in Art and Design course at UCA Farnham and then did Janet Phillips' Master Weaver course for two years. I am now developing my work and also teaching and mentoring in weave and dyeing.

I am a member of the West Surrey Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers and the Surrey Guild of Craftsmen
